Wetumpka 54 Chilton County 19

The Tigers lost on the road against a team ranked in the top 10 of the Class 6A poll.

It was the second straight week that Chilton County faced a highly ranked opponent, both of which were also region games.

With the loss, CCHS falls to 0-5 and 0-3 in Region 3-6A.

They will look to bounce back with a matchup against Russell County on homecoming Sept. 29.

Isabella 51 Highland Home 15

Isabella cruised to another victory with a key region win and the second week in a row that the Mustangs have done so on the road.

Special teams got Isabella going early on with a blocked punt that was punched in one play later by Austin Brasher.

There was no looking back after that, as Jaqarise Stacy threw for 126 yards and 53 on the ground.

The offense moved the ball at will and finished with 458 total all-purpose yards, which included Jordan Campbell returning the opening kickoff of the second half 88 yards for a score.

Brasher ran for three touchdowns, while Jarred Campbell and Jacob Davis also found the end zone with their legs.

Jaqarise Stacy ran and threw a 65-yard touchdown to Cornelius Stacy.

Aliceville 36 Verbena 0

The Red Devils put up a fight, but were shutout against one of the better teams in the state on a yearly basis in Class 2A.

The defeat drops Verbena to 0-4 and 0-3 in region play heading into a road game against West Blocton on Sept. 29.
