The trip back from Mississippi was not quite as long for Maplesville following a 36-6 road victory over Resurrection Catholic High School.

Crossing the state line was no worries for the Red Devils who represented their state well with a win in dominant fashion.

Ryan Morrow got the scoring started with a 40-yard touchdown run, which Chaz Morris followed up by recovering a fumble on the ensuing kickoff.

Christian Brown took advantage of Morris’ takeaway with a 2-yard touchdown run of his own, as Maplesville led 14-6 after the first quarter and 23-6 at the half.

Nathaniel Watson had another impressive game with two carries for 77 yards and a touchdown to accompany five receptions for 85 yards and two scores.

Morrow anchored the ground attack with 81 yards and the opening score on eight carries, while Brent Schoener did his part through the air by completing 11 of 17 pass attempts for 128 yards and two touchdowns as well as one interception.

The defense only gave up six points on the night, which included Jalen Hall recording a safety.
