Shelly Elaine Noah Cleckler

Mrs. Shelly Elaine Noah Cleckler, age 56, passed away after a 13-year battle with breast cancer, most notably hard fought the last four years with its metastasis.

She was born July 17, 1960 and joyfully went to meet her savior on Friday, July 14.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 17 at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 18 at 1 p.m. from the Martin Funeral Home chapel with Tollie Meggs of the Out of the Boat Ministries officiating.

Shelly is survived by her husband of 35 years, Terry Michael Cleckler; sisters, Kelly (Chris) Maddox and Jennifer (Matt) Christensen; nephews, Bo McGhar, Justin (Rachel) McGee, and Noah McGhar; nieces, Kristen McGee and Kimberly McGhar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and James L. Noah; grandparents, Dora and Zed Vines, Aline and Alvin Noah.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Montevallo, Master of Education degree and Education Specialist degree from Auburn University of Montgomery, and master’s certification in school psychometry from Troy State University in Montgomery. She worked 30 years as special education teacher and school psychometrist in Chilton (11 years) and Tuscaloosa (19 years) counties.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa and attended bible studies taught by Tollie Meggs at Out of the Boat Ministries.

Pallbearers will be Bo McGhar, Noah McGhar, Justin McGee, Jeremy Melton, Cole Noah, and Dale Maddox.
