Cambree Crumpton was crowned the 2017 Young Miss Peach Queen during the pageant on June 19.

“I was really excited. I was really happy,” Crumpton said of hearing her name announced as the winner.

She was also named the Peach Art winner.

Crumpton said she is looking forward to being on the Peach Queen Billboard and meeting the governor. Along with her sash and crown, Crumpton will be receiving a number of prizes, including cash, from local businesses and the Clanton Lions Club. She was sponsored by Peach Park and is a student at Clanton Elementary School. She wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.

Crumpton was also the 2014 Little Miss Peach.

Casual Wear winner and first alternate were awarded to Lexie Deavers. Braelynn Brooks was second alternate.  Third Alternate was Marissa Smitherman. Ryleigh Pierce was named fourth alternate.

Former Young Miss Peach queens were recognized and given a flower during the pageant.

2016 Young Miss Peach Cresley Haggard has enjoyed her reign so much that during this year’s pageant she suggested the Lions Club consider having queens reign for two years.

The Peach Pageants continue June 20 at 6:30 p.m. with the Junior Miss Peach Pageant. Scholarships, in addition to those the queen will win, sponsored by Shelby Baptist will also be awarded at the pageant.

This year marks the 70th Anniversary of the Chilton County Peach Festival sponsored by the Clanton Lions Club.
