The Chilton/ Clanton Library Board has begun a search for a library director following the resignation of former director Kelly Easterling.

Applications will be accepted until June 20, library bookkeeper Darlene Brock said.

Requirements include a master’s degree in library science and at least five years’ experience. Brock said experience writing grants is preferred.

Easterling left the library director position in March, and Brock is overseeing the day-to-day operation of the library until a replacement is found.

“I have been here for many years,” Brock said. “The library is special to me and I would like to see a lot of good things happen … It’s just a great place,”

She also complemented her fellow staff members.

Brock said during her career, she has seen several changes in the library and has seen many students grow up.
