Mineral Springs Baptist Church is gearing up for Family Fun Day on June 10 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Mineral Springs Baptist Church Pastor Jason Green said this year’s event is a re-development of the church’s annual men’s day.

“The event was previously held in May, and was an all-day affair with an evening worship to cap it off,” Green said. “We decided to condense the day this year into a four-hour event, and to focus on providing the entire family with something fun to do on a summer Saturday.”

The event is free and will include an antique car show, a motorcycle show with bikes from around the state, five giant inflatables, food, door prizes, and entertainment.

“We believe the event will have something for every age,” Green said. “It will be a great way for families to come and spend a couple of hours in a safe, friendly, encouraging environment.”

Food will be served from the church fellowship center, and most of the inflatables will be set up inside the gym.

Green said there will also be a family-friendly cinema room set up for individuals to watch something “fun” on a big screen while cooling off from the heat.

Beau Money is scheduled to play and sing with his wife, Tracey, on the church’s back pavilion, Green said.

“Those showing motorcycles or antique cars will have access to a special hospitality room,” Green said. “This is our way of showing them we appreciate their assistance in serving our community.”

Green said the leadership at Mineral Springs recognized the changing face of the community with an increase in young families with small children in the area.

“Many of them are either out of church for whatever the reason, or looking for the right place for them,” Green said. “We feel like we have something special to offer someone in search of a church where they can learn, love, and serve. This day is an extension of our PLUS 1 mission in our community. It is not about growing our church family, but about growing God’s family and adding to his kingdom. If we do right by that PLUS 1 mission, church growth will handle itself.”

Families will also have the opportunity to pre-register their children for Vacation Bible School, which begins June 11 at 6 p.m. at the church.

Mineral Springs Baptist Church is located at 8316 County Road 51 in Clanton, between County Road 42 and Alabama Highway 145.
