Clarence Robert “Droopy” Gaines

Clarence Robert “Droopy” Gaines, age 60, of Calera, passed away Tuesday, May 30. Droopy loved his classic 1929 Model A Ford and ’57 Chevy cars and hunting, but most of all he loved his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Cassie Marie Gaines.

His survivors include his wife of 41 years, Judy Gaines; son, Adam Gaines (Jamie); daughter, Brandy Barfield (Bobby); grandchildren, Trey Barfield, Cody Barfield, Cole Barfield, Caroline Gaines and Eli Gaines; brother, John Gaines (Betty) and sister, Sandy Turner and a host of other family members.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 1 at Charter Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 2 at Providence Baptist Church in Chilton County.
