Registration has begun for the Chilton/Clanton Public Library’s 2017 Summer Reading Program.

This year’s theme is “Build a Better World.” The program will begin on June 1.

The program is designed for children who have completed grades kindergarten through sixth grade. Students will be divided into four age groups: kindergarten, first-second grade, third-fourth grade and fifth and sixth grades.

Participants will start checking out books June 1 to count toward an opportunity for prizes.

“With each visit and checking out books your child can add their name to a drawing for gifts cards and coupons from different businesses. Last day to check out books for the drawing will be June 26, 2017 and the closing program and drawing will be the following day, June 27, 2017,” Renee Edwards of the Chilton/Clanton Public Library said.

Each child will receive a book bag and will be invited to special programs each Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Special guests will include juggler Brian Bruggerman on June 6, Donna Velasquez with games on June 13 and magician Skip Cain on June 20.

Registration can be completed at the Chilton/ Clanton Public Library at 100 First Avenue in Clanton.
