Texas Steakhouse celebrated joining the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce and some recent changes to its menu with a ribbon cutting on May 11.

“The new menu has lots of wonderful things on it,” general manager Lucas Henry said.

From steaks to pasta, Texas Steakhouse offers a variety.

Dinner and bar specials are planned for the coming weeks.

The restaurant’s signature dish is a 22-ounce Texas T-bone steak. Henry said there are numerous side items available to complement the steak.

“My favorite item would be the Texas stuffed potato,” Henry said. “It is stuffed with steak tips, cheese, chives, sour cream. It is about half a pound and it is massive. It is wonderful.”

Interior changes to the layout of the restaurant have also been completed.

Plans are being made for live music performances at the restaurant this summer.

“One Tuesday a month, we are doing a community give back, where we pick a charity and 10 percent of our sales from that day go to the charity,” Henry said.

Henry said joining the Chamber of Commerce was an important way for the restaurant to be involved in the community and get the word out to other local businesses that there is a good place for steak right in Chilton County, rather than traveling to another county.

The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Happy Hour is from 2 to 6 p.m.

Texas Steakhouse is located at 200 Town Mart in Clanton. The restaurant has been open since October, but Henry came on in April. Changes were made to the menu soon after.
