Holleywood Gardens took the next step in the future of the business with a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 30 that officially made it a member of the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce.
For the past eight years, Holleywood Gardens has been a popular place for the people of the county to buy plants, flowers and even Christmas trees.
Joining the Chamber of Commerce has been on owner Joe Holley’s mind for quite some time, and after nearly a decade, the time felt right.
“We had just never got around to it,” owner Joe Holley said. “It was finally time.”
Family, friends and other chamber members were on hand to witness the ribbon cutting take place at its location at 3010 7th Street in Clanton.
“It’s a blessing and is really good for advertising,” Holley said.
Other notable appearances also included a pair of 2017 Miss Alabama Agriculture Queens and Commissioner Joe Headley.
The timing of the ribbon cutting comes at the perfect time of year for Holley, who is entering his busiest time of year.
“From Easter to Mother’s Day, we’ll be clicking,” Holley said.
According to Holley, there has been interest in purchasing shrubberies more this year, as opposed to the past. He attributes to the lengthy drought that much of the state endured last year.
“Bedding plants and hanging baskets have always been a big thing,” Holley said. “Anything with a bloom on it.”
