Carl Scott, Jr., 83, of Clanton, died Tuesday, Jan. 17 at South Haven Nursing Home, Hoover.

He was born on Aug. 23, 1933 in Selma, son of Carl Scott, Sr. and Nannie Juanita Atchison Scott.

Faithful to his God first, his wife and family next, he lived a full life.

Mr. Scott was a co-owner of Activation, Inc. in Homewood and retired as Vice-President of the repairs department. He was a proud graduate of Mississippi Southern College and an avid outdoorsman all of his life.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Catherine (Katy) Scott of Hoover (formerly of Clanton); and children, Dean Randall (Sarah) Scott of Chicago, Illinois, Dale Allen Scott of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Christy Scott (Doug) Marshall of Alabaster; grandchildren, Deanna Rene Marshall, Adrienne Leigh Marshall (William) Bruner, Eric Douglas Marshall, and Tristan Darby-Scott; great-grandchild, Beckham Scott Bruner; and sister, Sue Scott McKenzie of Largo, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Nannie Juanita Atchison Scott.

Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 23 at Liberty Church in Hoover. Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Bruce Terry officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in the Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo.

Pallbearers are Allen Scott, Doug Marshall, Deanna Marshall, Eric Marshall, William Bruner, and Bob Rickman.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials can be made to Liberty Church Missions, 2732 Old Rocky Ridge Road, Hoover, AL, 35216, or the Home Owners and Boat Owners Association, P.O. Box 1324, Clanton, AL, 35046, for upkeep of his beloved Lake Mitchell.
