The Chilton County Humane Society is looking for a home for two inseparable dogs.

Kristi Hyche of the Humane Society said Mack, thought to be a bulldog mix, and Nala, thought to be a German Shepherd mix, were surrendered by their owner on Dec. 15. Hyche said Mack would be all right by himself, but Nala would not.

“Nala can’t really function without Mack. I think she feels like Mack is her protector,” Hyche said.

Hyche said the Humane Society wants to see the dogs adopted by the same person.

“He’s like her emotional support dog,” Hyche said.

When the animals are separated, Nala starts to shake and will not eat.

To encourage someone to adopt both animals, the shelter is offering a combined adoption fee of $175 for the pair. This would include covering the cost of having Mack neutered. Nala is already spayed.

“They’ve grown up together. They’ve always been together,” Hyche said.

Both dogs are up to date on their shots and have no known medical problems. Hyche said Mack does have a big appetite.

Mack is a friendly dog, who gets along with cats and loves water, according to Hyche.

Nala enjoys playing with toys and getting attention, although it can take her a little while to warm up to strangers.

Those interested in more information, can contact the shelter at 755-9170.
