The Chilton Christian Academy Patriots and Harvest Christian School fought it out in a game that ended with a loss for the Patriots at 58-48 on Jan. 5.

The first period opened with a bout of score and response between the two teams, but Harvest pulled ahead in the last few minutes. The period ended on a 6-point streak by the away team, putting the Patriots behind at 18-8.

The start of the second period looked grim for CCA when Harvest scored 9 unanswered points, but a fire lit in Carter Johnson for the Patriots at 3:49 left in the half. Johnson put up 6 points by the end of the period, and his teammates matched his points and shut out the away team to close the gap to 27-20 by halftime.

The second half was a much more equally matched battle. The Patriots worked steadily to close the gap, but could not maintain a lead.

With a minute left in the game, CCA was within three points of Harvest. The away team took three to the basket and a free throw in that time, with no response from the Patriots.

The final score of the game was 58-48. Harvest went home with the victory, but not without a tough fight from the boys at CCA.

Liam Higgins was the top scorer for the Patriots with 13 points. Johnson and Logan Littleton both put up 10 points on the night. Johnson and J.U. Bice had 100% accuracy on free throws for the night.
