Barry Leon Bainbridge

Barry Leon Bainbridge, 76, of Prattville died Monday, Jan. 2.

He was born on Monday, Nov. 4, 1940 in Bessemer, son of the late Leon Raymond Bainbridge and the late Mattie Waite Crumly Bainbridge.

Barry’s professional life was in banking and financial services. His civic contributions began early with earning the designation of Eagle Scout. As an adult, through his leadership with the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce and serving as a charter member of the Chilton County Jaycee’s Alabama Chapter, he continued to give back to his community. Barry was loved by family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Connie Bainbridge of Prattville; daughters, Marla (Javier) Bainbridge Martinez of Isla Mujeres, Mexico, Christie (Sean) Bainbridge Butler of Chelsea, and Marsha (Jamie) Harris of Clanton; son, John Bolton of Clanton; grandchildren, Brayden Butler, Joscelyn Butler, Kallen Bolton, Kamber Bolton, and Ambar Martinez; and mother of Marla and Christie, Mickey Parks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon & Mattie Waite Bainbridge, and infant son, Bradley Leon Bainbridge.

Friends will be received from 4-6 pm, Thursday, Jan. 5 at Martin Chapel in Clanton. Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 5 at 6 p.m. at Martin Chapel. Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery Friday, Jan. 6 at 11 a.m.
