The town of Thorsby officially kicks off the Christmas season with its annual Christmas parade Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.

Participants in the parade will start lining up before 9 a.m. in front of the old garment factory building.

The old factory building will also be where the parade eventually finishes.

The route remains the same as in recent years and will head south on U.S. 31 and back down Alabama Avenue.

According to Thorsby town clerk Crystal Smith, the tendency is for Christmas and Swedish Festival parades to follow the same route.

The Thorsby Police Department will block a portion of U.S. 31 during the length of the parade.

Parade applications for those looking to participate are still available and can be found at Thorsby town hall.

Arrive early to secure your spot along the route and enjoy the festive nature that is sure to be in the air.
