Ed Brooks Carter

Ed Brooks Carter passed away at his home in Selma on Thursday, Nov. 24 at the age of 79.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Ralston Carter; his parents, Ed Pettus (Pet) and Ilou Davis Carter; grandparents, Earnest H. and Mary Lou Chandler Davis, John W. and Sallie Lovelady Carter; and great-grandchild, Easton Ross.

He is survived by his daughter, Liz Carter Ross (Kenny); grandchildren, Brook Ross and Brandon Ross (Hope); great-grandchildren, Addyson Berkley Ross and Anna Blake Ross; sisters, Sara Scott (Hershel) and Nancy Carter; and many family and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at Lawrence Brown Funeral Home. Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery immediately following service.

Pallbearers will be Glen Scott, Roger Scott, Terry Scott, Rex Littleton, Holger Custar Vera (O’hare), Paul Crow, Frank Linch, Father David, Mike Little and Andy Linch.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Friday, Dr. Daniel Clower and Roy Boroughs.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Morgan Barrett of Gentiva Hospice.

Planned music to be performed by Parker Little.
