CCHS’ Veterans Day assembly featured “The POW MIA Remembrance Ceremony” in which a small symbolic table of remembrance is set. The table is set for one symbolizing the frailty of one prisoner alone against his oppressors. The white tablecloth represents purity of intentions to serve their country. A slice of lemon represents their bitter fate. A single rose and red ribbon represent the families who are still waiting to find out what happened to their loved one. Salt on the plate represents these family members tears. The inverted glass and empty chair symbolize that those who are missing in action cannot join the assembly. (Contributed photo)
