Church to host Christmas craft event

Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Clanton is in search of vendors to take part in its inaugural Christmas Marketplace scheduled for Nov. 19.
The event will specialize in gift items such as crafts, handmade goods and children’s clothing.
It will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. and will be held in the Christian Life Center on the church property.
Due to the event being indoors, weather will not play a factor.
“The event will go on regardless,” Event Coordinator Laura Liveoak said.
Proceeds from the event will help the church provide Christmas presents to children in need throughout the community.
Bro. Jason Green is the pastor at Mineral Springs Baptist Church and was influential in the creation of the event.
According to Liveoak, Green wanted to have an event that appealed to women similar to what the annual car show is for the men of the church.
“We needed something for the women to enjoy and get involved with,” Liveoak said. “This was one of the first things that came to mind.”
Vendors will be assigned booth space based on a first come, first served basis upon arrival on Friday night or Saturday morning.
Any food sold by vendors must comply with the Chilton County Health Department and must have a valid food permit.
The No. 1 rule for vendors to remember is that no yard sale items will be accepted, Liveoak said.
Vendors must offer patrons with non-used items that were handcrafted or represent a sense of uniqueness.
No items will be allowed that are deemed inappropriate for a church or family setting, such as alcohol, tobacco and adult-oriented publications or apparel.
Certain supplies such as tables, chairs and any other items used to display merchandise, must be provided by the vendor.
Each spot is 10 feet wide and 10 feet long and costs $30, with the option to include electricity for an extra $10.
No registration fees will be accepted after Nov. 17 and the last day for refunds on registration fees will be Nov. 1.
