Hazel Myrtis Thomas

Hazel Myrtis Thomas, 87, of Clanton died Thursday, Oct. 20 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster.

She was born Friday, Feb. 15, 1929 in Chilton County, daughter of the late Judson Messer and the late Camilla Gardner Messer.

She was a homemaker and a long time member of Clanton First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her sons, Bill (Michele) Thomas of Clanton, and Howard (Golda) Thomas of Clanton; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Hollis Messer of Orange Beach, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Thomas, and brother, Kenneth Messer.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 22 at Clanton First United Methodist Church.

Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at Clanton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Barbara Brewi officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton.
