The Chilton County Humane Society is holding a fundraiser Saturday at the Hidden Meadow Vineyard and Winery from 6-10 p.m.

Attendees will get the chance to taste local wines, eat a spaghetti dinner and participate in a silent auction. The night is a combination of two of the society’s most popular events, according to its Facebook page.

“It’s our most fun fundraiser,” said Katherine Reece, president of the Chilton County Humane Society. “It’s great for a date night. You’ll be sitting out on a porch in a vineyard, it’s very romantic.”

The event’s venue, Hidden Meadow, has been open since 2011. The vineyard and winery won multiple medals at the 2016 Alabama Commercial Wine Competition for its wines, which come right from the vineyard in Jemison. The peach wine was one of the gold medal winners, and Hidden Meadows uses peaches from local farms to create it.

Hidden Meadow is hosting the event free of charge, and will donate a dollar for every bottle of wine sold.

Bertolone’s Italian Café in Clanton will provide the spaghetti dinner free of charge. The meal will include salad and a dessert made by the café.

“You can’t go to a restaurant and get all of this for $15,” said Reece.

In addition to the food and drink, attendees will enjoy a silent auction. Local artists and volunteers have donated a variety of items to be included in the auction. Designer purses, custom works of art and more will be available for bidding, according to Reece.

“Christmas is only 90 days away, and this is a chance to get a unique gift and support a great cause at the same time,” said Reece.

She said the Humane Society is very thankful to Hidden Meadow, Bertolone’s and all the artists and volunteers who are making the event possible.

Hidden Meadow Vineyard and Winery is located at 664 County Road 606 in Jemison.

Admission is $15 per person at the door. All proceeds will go towards the Humane Society.
