Damon Mount Young

Damon Mount Young, 37, of Verbena died Wednesday, Aug. 24.

He was born on Monday, Sept. 11, 1978 in Alabama, son of Larry Mount Young, Sr. and Mary Doyle Young.

He was a geologist for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 19 years. He was a U.S. Navy Seal.

Surviving are his father, Larry Young of Verbena; mother, Beth Young of Verbena; daughter, Ella Grace Young of Montgomery; son, Liam Payton Young of Montgomery; brother, Larry (Missy) Young, Jr. of Deatsville; sister, Dana Young Libby of Little Rock, Ark.; and best friend, Casey Wilson of Clanton.

Friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., Monday, Aug. 29 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Monday, Aug. 29 at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Keith Edwards officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Interment will follow in Young Family Cemetery.
