James William Howard

James William Howard, age 80 of Jemison, passed away Thursday, Aug. 18 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born in Georgia on Feb. 28, son of the late Leonard Howard and the late Lela Skinner Howard.

He was a maintenance man.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Howard of Jemison; son, Steve (Terri) Howard of Jemison; daughter, Deborah (David) Collins of Thorsby; grandsons, Brian Collins of Thorsby, Shane Howard of Jemison, and Caleb Smith of Jemison; granddaughters, Rachel Collins (Nick) Eggers of Jemison, Ashley Howard (Eric) Mims of Jemison, and Tiffany Collins of Thorsby; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Frank Howard of Keysville, Ga., and Leonard Howard of Wrens, Ga.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lela Skinner Howard; daughter, Rhonda Smith; and numerous brothers and sisters

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 21 at 4 p.m. from the Jemison First Baptist Church with Dr. Rex Kent and Rev. Gary Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the church.
