Myrtice Enfinger

Myrtice Enfinger, 95 of Clanton, Alabama died peacefully at The Oaks on Parkwood in Birmingham on Friday, July 8, 2016, with her daughter at her side. A native of Chilton County, Alabama, she attended high school at Chilton County High in Clanton and Business College in Birmingham. She met her future husband, Ray Enfinger, while attending church at Walnut Creek Methodist Church, where his father was the Pastor. They were married for over 70 years. Until her death she was the oldest surviving member of the church having attended there all of her life. She was a wonderful, caring and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Myrtice was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Leon Mims and Tishie Maddox Mims and one brother “Little” Earl Mims. She is survived by a son, Russell Enfinger, Sr. (Sally) of Panama City, Florida; a daughter, Sara Enfinger McPherson (Mark) of Birmingham, Alabama; four grandchildren, Dr. Chris Baker (Melissa) and Dr. Bethany Baker Lyn of Clanton, Rusty Enfinger, Jr. (Tiffany) of Panama City and Sara Elizabeth “Lyza” Enfinger Specht (Will) of Rushton, Louisiana; six great-grandchildren, Chase and Ryan Baker of Montevallo, Nicholas Lyn of Mobile, Julianne Lyn of Clanton and Auburn, and Samuel and Cooper Specht of Rushton; and many special cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Walnut Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Tony Hughes, Jim Popwell and Phyllis Kirk officiating. The family will receive friends and visitors one hour prior to the service at the Church. A private family interment will follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to John Croyle’s Big Oak Ranch or the United Methodist Children’s Homes.
