Chestnut Creek Heritage Chapel will host “Cool Tunes and Ice Cream,” which is a family event as well as a fundraiser for the church.

The festivities will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Chestnut Creek and will include three different musicians performing along with an ice cream social.

Musicians Bill Bellows, Rick Phillips and Steve Norris are known for their American Folk sound and will each be playing different segments of the event.

“We hope we hit a good time with families getting back from the Fourth of July, and looking for something to do,” said Ola Taylor with Chestnut Creek.

M&M Farms will provide the ice cream for that portion of the event.

According to Taylor, the church is grateful to have their support of the event, as people are very familiar with M&M Farms, who recently won their ninth consecutive top honor at the Peach Auction.

The event was scheduled with the expectations of starting after morning service and ending prior to evening service getting underway.

“We did not want to interfere with the religious aspects,” Taylor said. “Everyone should be able to take part in all of it.”

Tickets are available with at least a $15 donation, while kids under 12 years of age will get in free with the purchase of a paid adult.

“Our goal in every event that we host is to bring as much culture to the area as we can,” Taylor said.
