Kokomos adds food to the menu

Kokomos Bar is known for its selection of alcoholic beverages but now it looks to draw even more customers with the addition of food to the menu.
According to Kokomos owner Judy Todd, adding food items has been much anticipated by certain customers who have encouraged extending the menu for quite some time.
“People like to eat while they drink,” Todd said. “They want it all available at one place.”
The new menu items have already been added to the menu and include pizza, chicken wings and a late-night breakfast.
“That was the food that we felt best about starting with,” Todd said.
Updating the menu is the second major change that Kokomos has undergone within the past 12 months.
The business relocated in September 2015 to its current more spacious location at 2031 U.S. Highway 31 in Clanton.
Pepperoni or cheese will be the pizza options, while customers will have the choice of basting their wings in six different sauces.
According to Todd, the most anticipated flavor is the Kokomos signature sauce, which is a mixture of both heat and sweetness.
A late-night breakfast will begin at 11 p.m. and will offer a different choice for its customers with no curfew.
The breakfast menu will consist of a combination plate that includes eggs, choice of sausage or bacon, grits and biscuit or toast.
Biscuits and gravy will also be sold as a less hearty alternative.
“We are giving the people what they asked for,” Todd said. “That’s what it comes down to.”
