A victim was airlifted to a hospital after an apparent head-on collision Monday afternoon on Highway 31 north of Clanton.

Several rescue agencies responded to the wreck near Lomax Assembly of God shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, according to dispatch calls.

No information was immediately available about the injuries sustained in the wreck, though dispatch indicated entrapment was possible.

Traffic was detoured onto a different roadway as emergency personnel were on the scene.
