Lay Dam employees feed, donate to Special Olympics students

Noel Harrison, plant superintendent at Lay Dam, presented a $500 donation from Alabama Power to Michelle Coppedge, special education program supervisor with the Chilton County Board of Education (above).

The donation is used to support the Special Olympics program for Chilton County schools.

Students from the Special Olympics program toured Lay Dam on May 9-10 and were treated to lunch by the employees of Lay Dam.

Alabama Power and the Lay Dam employees have been sponsoring the plant tour and lunch for over 20 years, and the students look forward to this tour each year.
