Schools celebrate healthy living

To promote National School Breakfast Week, teachers and students were invited to create a bulletin board for their school that promoted healthy living and eating.

One of the best ways to be healthy is by enjoying a good breakfast every day. Research has shown it helps students feel better, perform better on tests and have fewer discipline incidents than those who didn’t.

Winners were selected from four schools.

At Jemison Middle School, Tina Trammel and her fifth graders, “Got Moo-ving“ with lowfat milk at breakfast.

Jacqueline Sullivan and class from Maplesville High School “Hit a Homerun” with breakfast (top).
