One person was hospitalized following a single-vehicle wreck Thursday on Interstate 65.

The victim, whose condition was not known at press time, was ejected from the vehicle during the wreck, which occurred shortly after 1 p.m. near I-65 Exit 208 in Clanton, according to Clanton Fire Department Chief David Driver.

The injuries sustained were considered critical.

Driver said there were no other victims at the scene.

Northbound lanes of the interstate were closed initially as emergency personnel responded to the scene.

The victim was taken by ambulance to I-65 Exit 219, where the victim was transferred to Lifesaver emergency helicopter.
