Jake Moore, a sixth grader at Clanton Middle School, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee.

As the school winner, Moore advanced to the next level of competition, which was a written examination to determine state competitors.

Moore qualified to compete at the state level with top competitors in the state.

He is the son of Kelly Latham and Jeff Moore.
