The 35th annual Special Olympics were held April 29 at Clanton City Park. Students from each of the 11 Chilton County public schools participated in the event.

- Mason Higgins of Clanton Middle School stands atop the award podium.

- Face-painting was provided from Chilton County High School students. Several CCHS students volunteered at the event.

- Participants from Jemison Elementary School led the crowd in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

- It was a warm day, but the heat could not slow down the fun that was taking place.

- Talon Hunter and Elijah Mobley, both of Clanton Elementary School, race during a track event.

- Chilton County Schools Special Education Director Benita Cahalane was presented with a puppy as a retirement gift during the opening ceremony.
