Deborah Stewart “Debbie” Gentry, 56, of Shelby, passed away on March 25 at her residence.

She was born in Birmingham on Aug. 24, 1959, the son of the late Clyde O’neal Stewart and the late Frances Carolyn Beck Stewart.

She was a former medical transcriptionist.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Posey of Shelby; son, Andy Gentry (Anna) of Alabaster; daughter, Ashley Gentry of Birmingham; step-son, Garon Posey (Catherine); sister, Deanna Toumlilt (Menouer) of Montreal, Canada; sister, Deleah Holcombe (Mike) of Clanton; sister, Dannell Mallory of Thorsby; brother, Jay Stewart of Clanton and father-in-law, Hub Posey of Clanton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Buddy and Carolyn Stewart and a brother, Dewayne Stewart.

Funeral services were held March 28 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Gothard officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Mt. Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
