Pedestrian struck and killed on Hwy. 155

A pedestrian was struck and killed on Saturday night in a single-vehicle crash in Chilton County.

Pedro Guzman, 56, of Montevallo, was killed when he was struck by a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse on Alabama Highway 155, near the 6 Mile Marker, according to Cpl. Jesse Thornton with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The driver of the Chevy remained at the scene and was not injured, according to Thornton.

A preliminary investigation indicated alcohol may have been a factor for the pedestrian involved in the crash.

No additional information was available as Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
