Jemison baseball splits close games against Montevallo

In other action around Chilton County on Thursday, Jemison High School baseball split a doubleheader on the road against Montevallo.

The Panthers (6-2) won the first game 5-4 behind a strong pitching performance by Phillip Lenoir, who allowed just three hits and no earned runs, while striking out six batters through three innings of work.

Lenoir’s stellar performance was not quite complete, as he helped out his own cause and finished 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs.

Hunter Hood and Logan Ray each added an RBI, as Hood delivered three hits on four plate appearances.

The big inning for Jemison came with three runs in the fourth inning.

Later, the Panthers lost a close contest 5-4 in nine innings.

Banks Woodley led the way with a pair of hits, while Will Lenoir, Phillip Lenoir and Ray each added another hit score sheet.
