The family of a missing 34-year-old Clanton man is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to his whereabouts.

Chilton County Sheriff John Shearon said at this point in the search, his department is trying to follow up on any leads.

“Someone has to know something,” Shearon said. “We are hoping maybe the reward will bring us some other avenues to go down. We have searched with helicopters, dogs and people, and nothing has come up.”

The area where Wilson was walking is near the Refuge community.

A search party for Wilson was held on Feb. 20 with roughly 100 people showing up to help out in the search.

A command post was set up at Mt. Springs Church off County Road 51 for anyone interested in helping.

“We covered about 10 square miles,” Shearon said. “The community turned out great by bringing different things in helping look for him. It was really nice seeing so many people show up to help. Everyone did an excellent job of trying to help and I know the family really appreciated that. It is still tough on them, but they were really thankful to see the support from so many.”

Wilson’s mother initially reported him missing to authorities, Assistant Chief Deputy Shane Mayfield said at the time of Wilson’s disappearance.

Wilson was last seen wearing an Alabama hoodie, blue jeans, black and white Nike shoes and a gray Under Armour hat.

Wilson is 5 feet 4 inches, weighs 140 pounds, has green eyes and brown hair.

His birthday is Oct. 1, 1981.

According to the initial report, Wilson was riding in a vehicle with his wife and had allegedly taken prescription drugs before exiting the vehicle.

Mayfield said the family has not seen Wilson since he exited the vehicle.

“Right now, we are just spinning our wheels,” Shearon said. “We are just trying to follow any leads we receive, and so far nothing has panned out. Our hope is that someone might know something and be able to help us.”

If anyone has seen Wilson, or has knowledge of his whereabouts, they are asked to notify the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office at (205) 755-4698, Chilton County 911 at (205) 755-1120 or email ken.harmon@chiltoncountyso.org.
