Calhoun recognized by LCTC

February’s spotlight of the month for LeCroy Career Technology Center is Sherri Calhoun.
Calhoun has worked in Chilton County for 18 years. She began her education career teaching Title I reading at Clanton Elementary School before moving to Vidalia, Ga.
In Georgia, Calhoun taught third grade for three years. After moving back to Clanton, she began teaching reading at Thorsby High School and was there for 15 years.
This is Calhoun’s first year teaching ESL classes with LeCroy Career Technical Center. She teaches kindergarten through 12th grade English Language Learners at Thorsby and Jemison and said she loves it!
Calhoun said she loves being back home and enjoys spending her time raising her three daughters.
Calhoun serves an essential role for the students in the county. She goes above and beyond to assist the schools and the students.
LeCroy Career Technical Center officials said they are proud to have Calhoun as a member of the family.
