For those who have ever had the dream to meet and converse with book authors individually, the chance is here.
On Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon, Chestnut Creek Heritage Chapel will host the free event, “Meet the Author—Sharing Our Stories.”
Five authors with local connections will come and talk about their books and adventures in writing. The panel includes Sara Dubose, Perry Green, Nancy Goff, Angela Hayes and Dwight Swindle.
All of the authors either live in the Chilton County area or have some past connection with the area.
“I was delighted to be invited and I am looking forward to meeting new people from the community,” Hayes said. “I am also looking forward to the opportunity to introduce my book.”
All are invited to come and enjoy refreshments and conversation with the authors from 10-11 a.m.
Following this open time, there will be a panel discussion from 11-11:30 a.m. as the authors talk about their writing.
There will also be more time to visit with the individual authors after the panel discussion.
“This is the first year we have hosted this event,” organizer Ola Taylor said. “We have done musical events like this in the past, but we wanted to branch out some, and later in the summer we’ll be hosting a panel with local artists. We wanted people with a local connection, and we’ve got a really good variety of authors.”
Chestnut Creek Heritage Chapel can be found by taking Interstate 65 Exit 205, traveling south for about three miles on Highway 31 and then turning left onto County Road 24 East. The chapel is at the top of the hill.
