Dusty Dutton sang “Mary Did You Know” for our choir special, while Bro. Ken Daniel’s message was from Luke 2:1-7 and was titled “Finding Room For Jesus”.

Was the inn really full? Can you imagine Joseph telling the inn keeper that he needed a room for his fiancé who was about to give birth? What are some of our excuses? Are we too busy, schedule too full or even too burdened?

For our evening service, Dr. James Stange, professor of the New Testament and archeology at Samford University presented a lecture on the life and culture during the birth of Jesus.

We wish a happy birthday to Liby Fanning and Raymond Powell, while prayer requests go out to travelers, Anna Byars, Doris Davis, Charlotte Smitherman, Faye Honeycutt, Ivory Simon and family, Debra Mims, Betty Mims, Liby Fanning, Betty James, Mary Feshee and the unspoken.

The Christmas cantata “Breath of Heaven” has been set for Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. with Christmas lunch to follow. We will also go Christmas caroling Dec. 23 beginning at 6 p.m.

March 3-6 is the ladies beach trip. The cost $150 for gas and room and please let Anita know if you plan to go.

The adult Evangelism conference will be May 2 at Taylor Road Baptist Church in Montgomery from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission for the event is free and no registration is necessary.

The department of human resources has a wish list for foster children, and they also accept gift cards. The Chilton/Shelby mental health institute has 10 residents and is requesting donations or items from its wish list.

Congratulations to Brandy and Shane on the birth of their son.
