Football
Javae Swindle (Jemison 2012) concluded his historic career as a running back and kick returner for the University of West Alabama football program (7-4) by surpassing 2,600 total yards for his career in a 42-14 loss to the University of North Alabama (8-2) on Nov. 14 in Florence.
In the competition, the senior produced 51 yards from four kick returns.
For the season, he has compiled 162 yards from 48 rushing attempts, 90 yards from five kick returns and 62 yards from 14 receptions.
For his career, he has produced 2,553 total yards and 17 touchdowns with his biggest accomplishment, being named an NCAA Division II All-American second team selection by Beyond Sports Network in 2013.
In that season, he led the Great South Conference in rushing by producing 1,296 yards and 12 touchdowns en route to also being an all-conference first team pick.
In 2014, he was selected as a preseason All-American by Beyond Sports Network and USA College Football.
Through battling injuries, he completed that year with 480 yards and two touchdowns from 78 carries.
Overall, he finished as the program’s all-time leading rusher with 237 yards from 310 career rushing attempts.
Jaytarius Steele (Billingsley 2015) is a freshman wide receiver for the Huntingdon College football program, which remained 9-1 overall heading into a matchup at home in the opening round of the NCAA Division III playoffs against Hendrix College (8-2) on Nov. 21 in Montgomery.
In his most recent appearance, he collected a 7-yard reception in a 44-13 triumph at home against Averett University (2-7) on Nov. 14. For the year, he has totaled 312 yards and two touchdowns from 22 catches.
Riley Tindol (Billingsley 2014) is a 6-foot-5, 262-pound defensive end for Vanderbilt University, which improved to 4-6 overall after securing a 21-17 victory at home against the University of Kentucky (4-6) on Nov. 14 in Nashville, Tenn.
Anthony Johnson (Maplesville 2013) collected an appearance at wide receiver for NCAA Division I Football Subdivision (FCS) No. 1 Jacksonville State University (9-1) in a 56-28 triumph at home against Southeast Missouri State University (4-6) on Nov. 14 in Jacksonville.
For the season, the junior has compiled 140 yards from 16 receptions.
Spencer Watley (Chilton County 2013) secured an appearance as an offensive lineman for FCS No. 1 Jacksonville State University against Southeast Missouri State University.
David Neece (Chilton County 2013) is a 6-foot-3, 300-pound offensive lineman for FCS No. 1 Jacksonville State University.
Randy Satterfield (Jemison 2014) started at wide receiver for the University of West Alabama (7-4) in a 52-14 loss to the University of North Alabama (8-2) on Nov. 14 in Florence.
For the year, the sophomore has totaled 273 yards and a team-leading six touchdowns from 21 receptions.
Kortlin Zeigler (Jemison 2014) secured an appearance at tight end for the University of West Alabama against the University of North Alabama.
Delondre DeJarnett (Chilton County 2014) is a defensive lineman for the University of West Alabama football program.
Keandre Binion (Chilton County 2015) secured an appearance at running back for Culver-Stockton College (0-11) in a 58-14 loss at Graceland College (4-7) on Nov. 14 in Canton, MO.
For the year, the freshman has compiled 132 yards from kick returns, 17 yards from four receptions and 14 yards from five rushing attempts.
Damian Mitchell (Maplesville 2014) concluded his sophomore season at wide receiver for Birmingham-Southern College (5-5) by producing 169 yards from eight kick returns and 137 yards from 12 catches.
His most recent appearance came in a 14-7 victory at home against Berry College (7-3) on Nov. 7 in Birmingham.
Mitchell Parker (Chilton County 2014) is a redshirt freshman at wide receiver for Miles College, which concluded the year with a 7-4 overall record after clinching a 20-7 triumph at home against Albany State University (6-4) on Nov. 14 in Montgomery.
Michael Seaton (Chilton County 2014) is a 5-foot-9, 185-pound running back for Southwest Assemblies of God University, which improved to 7-4 overall after securing a 48-26 victory at home against Bacone College on Nov. 14 in Waxahachie, Texas
Cheerleading
Ashley Lanier (Chilton County 2015) finished her freshman season as a cheerleader for Auburn University at Montgomery’s football program.
Savannah Diaz (Verbena 2013) completed her junior season as a cheerleader for the University of Montevallo football program.
Michaela Nolin (Isabella 2015) concluded her freshman season as a cheerleader for the University of Montevallo football program.
Women’s indoor track and field
Lori Davis (Billingsley 2012) enters her senior season as a thrower for Alabama State University, which will open at the Southern Icebreaker Invitational on Dec. 5 hosted by Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham.
Sarah Graham (Isabella 2015) is a freshman distance runner for the University of West Alabama, which will open at the UAB Blazer Invitational on Jan. 16 in Birmingham.
In the freshman’s most recent competition, she collected the No. 9 performance for the Tigers’ cross-country program at the Gulf South Conference Championships by clinching 41st on the 6,000-meter course with a time of 20 minutes, 8.71 seconds on Oct. 24 in Danville.
Among the field of 11 teams, the University of West Alabama claimed the victory.
