Sarah Graham (Isabella 2015) contributed to the University of West Alabama women’s cross country program by winning the Gulf South Conference Championships on Oct. 24 in Danville.
In the competition, the freshman captured the No. 9 performance for the Tigers by placing 41st in the 6,000 meters with a time of 20 minutes, 8.71 seconds.
Javae Swindle (Jemison 2012) surpassed 2,500 total yards for his career as a running back for the University of West Alabama football program (6-2) in a 41-38 triumph at Delta State University (5-3) on Oct. 24 in Clinton, Miss.
In the game, the senior delivered 68 total yards, highlighted by a 39-yard kick return.
For the season, he has compiled 165 rushing yards from 39 rushing attempts and 44 receiving yards from eight receptions.
For his career, he has produced 2,535 total yards and 17 touchdowns.
Keandre Binion (Chilton County 2015) has produced 63 total yards for the year as a running back for Culver-Stockton College, which fell to 0-8 overall after sustaining a 73-20 loss at NAIA Division II No. 14 William Penn University (6-2) on Oct. 24 in Canton, Mo.
For the season, the freshman has tallied 46 yards from two kick returns, nine yards from two receptions and 8 yards from one rushing attempt.
Delondre DeJarnett (Chilton County 2014) is a 6-foot-2, 290-pound defensive lineman for the University of West Alabama.
Anthony Johnson (Maplesville 2013) ended two yards shy of matching a season high in receiving yards by contributing 54 yards from a season-high six receptions as a starting wide receiver for NCAA Division I Football Subdivision (FCS) No. 1 Jacksonville State University (6-1) in a 27-7 triumph at Austin Peay State University (6-1) on Oct. 24 in Clarksville, Tenn.
For the season, the junior has totaled 126 yards from 12 catches.
Damian Mitchell (Maplesville 2014) hauled in 28 yards from two receptions as a wide receiver for Birmingham-Southern College (4-4) in a 21-18 loss at Rhodes College (4-3) on Oct. 24 in Memphis.
For the season, the sophomore has compiled 169 yards from eight kick returns and 137 yards from 12 catches.
David Neece (Chilton County 2013) is a 6-foot-3, 300-pound offensive lineman for Jacksonville State University.
Mitchell Parker (Chilton County 2014) is a redshirt freshman wide receiver for Miles College, which improved to 4-4 overall after securing a 37-10 triumph at Lane College (2-6) on Oct. 24 in Fairfield.
Randy Satterfield (Jemison 2014) hauled in his team-leading fifth touchdown on a five-yard reception from Harry Satterwhite en route to leading the University of West Alabama football program (6-2) to a 41-38 triumph at Delta State University (5-3) on Oct. 24 in Clinton, Miss.
In the game, the sophomore collected his touchdown with 2 minutes, 28 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to knot the score 38-38.
With 17 seconds remaining, the Tigers’ Mark Grant contributed a game-winning field goal from 23 yards to cap a six-play, 27-yard drive.
In the matchup, Satterfield finished with 44 yards from three catches.
For the season, the sophomore’s compiled 241 yards from 16 receptions.
Jaytarius Steele (Billingsley 2015) compiled 269 yards and two touchdowns from 17 catches for the year as a wide receiver for Huntingdon College, which improved to 6-1 overall after clinching a 42-6 victory at home against Methodist University (3-4) on Oct. 24 in Montgomery.
Riley Tindol (Billingsley 2014) is a 6-foot-5, 262-pound defensive end for Vanderbilt University, which improved to 3-4 overall after capturing a 10-3 victory at home against the University of Missouri (4-4) on Oct. 24 in Nashville, Tenn.
Spencer Watley (Chilton County 2013) has made appearances as a 5-foot-10, 260-pound offensive lineman for Jacksonville State University.
Kortlin Zeigler (Jemison 2014) has secured six appearances for the year as a tight end for the University of West Alabama, which improved to 6-2 overall after collecting a 41-38 triumph at Delta State University (5-3) on Oct. 24 in Clinton, Miss. For the season, the sophomore has provided an 11-yard kick return.
Forrest Knight (Chilton County 2013) captured the No. 1 performance for the University of North Alabama at the TVA Credit Union Invitational by placing runner-up with a three-round score of 214 (74-69-71) from Oct. 19-20 in Killen.
Among the field, the Lions clinched second place among the field of 18 teams.
Ivan Truss (Chilton County 2013) is a junior for Samford University, which finished seventh among the field of 12 teams at the Pinetree Intercollegiate Invitational from Oct. 19-20 in Kennesaw, Georgia.
In his most recent effort, he collected the No. 6 performance for the Bulldogs at the Kenny Perry Invitational by tying for 52nd overall with a three-round score of 239 (78-81-80) from Oct. 12-13 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Among the field of 12 teams, Samford ended seventh.
Alandra Griffith (Isabella 2014) contributed four kills and one block as an outside hitter for Wallace Community College – Selma (1-21) in a 3-0 loss to Jefferson Davis Community College (4-20) on Oct. 19 in Brewton.
On Oct. 20, the sophomore followed by providing a game-high four blocks and three kills in a 3-0 loss at home to Snead State Community College (15-15) in Selma.
For the season, she has compiled 99 kills, 48 blocks, 12 digs, five assists and two aces.
Akwanza Robinson (Isabella 2015) posted a season-high seven kills and two blocks as a middle hitter for Wallace Community College – Selma (1-21) in a 3-2 loss at Lawson State Community College (12-16) on Oct. 12 in Lawson.
On Oct. 14, the freshman followed by contributing six kills, four blocks and one dig in a 3-1 loss at Faulkner State Community College (22-9) on Oct. 14 in Bay Minette.
In her most recent effort, she delivered three blocks and three kills in a 3-0 loss at home to Snead State Community College (15-15) in Selma. For the year, she has tallied 59 kills, 30 blocks and two digs.
