Ruth B. Vinzant, 85, of Jemison, died Oct. 20 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.

She was born on Dec. 8, 1929, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late A.O. Boswell and the late Balzola Baker Boswell.

She was a nurse for 38 years, 30 years with Dr. Joe and Charles Moore.

Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn June Jeffcoat (Guthrie) of Montgomery; grandsons, Derek Shawn (Christy Lynn) Headley, Cameron Jeffcoat; granddaughters, Elizabeth Grace Headley, Emily Carolyn Headley; step-grandsons, Ashley and Lance Jeffcoat and a host of nieces and nephews and special friend, Lori Laxon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Vinzant and brothers, Omar, Lloyd, Stan and James Boswell.

Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m. Oct. 23 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Michael Laxon officiating.

Interment will follow in Mineral Springs Cemetery in Clanton.
