A two-vehicle wreck late Tuesday afternoon in Thorsby sent one person to the hospital by way of emergency helicopter.

Collins Chapel Fire Department Chief Shawn Carlisle said the incident involved a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 31 near Lomax Assembly of God and Kissell Entertainment around 5:44 p.m.

The collision shut down both sides of Hwy. 31 for about 30 minutes as agencies from Collins Chapel Fire Department and Jemison Fire Department worked the scene.
