Jemison woman killed in wreck Sunday

A Jemison woman was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Sunday afternoon.

Jennifer Marie Macon, 26, of Jemison was killed when the 2003 Ford Focus she was driving left the roadway on County Road 36 four miles south of Jemison and struck a tree, according to a press release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Macon, who was not wearing a seat belt according to the the release, was transported to UAB Hospital but died from her injuries.

No further information was immediately available.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the incident.
