Jemison fell to 0-5 on the season with a 34-0 loss to Calera on Friday, but coach Van Clements said he sees progress.
“I thought our guys made strides tonight,” Clements said. “This team has worked really hard and continues to put forth effort. This next week, we will work on building our defense and work on tackling. We really just need to work on not shooting ourselves in the foot.”
The Panthers are now 0-3 in region play, while Calera improves to 3-1 and 2-1.
Calera struck quickly at Jemison’s Panther Stadium, with Charles White scoring just 16 seconds into the game.
White added two more touchdowns, one in the third quarter and one in the fourth.
Kyle Harrell scored Calera’s other two touchdowns.
Zachary Ford was good on four point-afters.
