Editor’s note: Below is a compilation of the statistics and achievements for graduates of Chilton County area schools who now compete at the college level.

FOOTBALL

Keandre Binion (Chilton County 2015) entered his first season as a 5-foot-9, 158-pound defensive back for Culver-Stockton College, which fell to 0-3 after sustaining a 31-13 loss at Central Methodist University (1-2) on Sept. 12 in Fayette, Mo.

Delondre DeJarnett (Chilton County 2014) returned for his sophomore season as a 6-foot-2, 290-pound defensive lineman for the University of West Alabama.

Anthony Johnson (Maplesville 2013) entered his junior season as a 6-foot-4, 205-pound wide receiver for Jacksonville State University, which finished the 2014 campaign with a 9-2 record.

Last season, Johnson collected 296 yards and three touchdowns on 24 receptions.

On Sept. 5, he opened this year by collecting an appearance for JSU (2-0) in a 23-20 season-opening victory at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (1-1) in Chattanooga, Tenn.

In his most recent appearance, JSU sustained a 27-20 loss at No. 6 Auburn University (2-0) on Sept. 12 in Auburn.

Damian Mitchell (Maplesville 2014) opened the season by contributing 19 yards from two receptions as a starting wide receiver for Birmingham-Southern College (2-0) in a 29-28 victory at LaGrange College (0-2) on Sept. 5 in LaGrange, Georgia.

David Neece (Chilton County 2013) entered his junior season as a 6-foot-3, 300-pound offensive lineman for Jacksonville State University.

Mitchell Parker (Chilton County 2014) entered his redshirt freshman season as a wide receiver for Miles College, which fell to 0-2 after sustaining a 33-7 loss to the University of West Georgia (2-0) on Sept. 12 in Carrollton, Ga.

Randy Satterfield (Jemison 2014) opened the season by contributing 94 yards and two touchdowns from six receptions for the University of West Alabama football program (2-0) in a 52-9 victory at home against Stillman College (1-1) on Sept. 5 in Livingston.

On Sept. 10, the 6-foot-3 sophomore followed by producing 57 yards and two TDs from three catches in a 34-8 triumph at home against Cumberland University (1-10).

For the season, he’s compiled 151 yards and four TDs from nine receptions.

Jaytarius Steele (Billingsley 2015) hauled in a 35-yard TD reception on a pass from Luke Bailey in his first collegiate game as a wide receiver for the Huntingdon College football program (1-1) in a 56-35 triumph at home against Louisiana College (0-1) on Sept. 5 in Montgomery.

In the competition, the 6-foot-2, 198-pound freshman provided 42 yards from two catches.

On Sept. 12, he followed by contributing 84 yards from five receptions in a 35-34 loss at Birmingham-Southern College (1-1) in Birmingham.

For the season, he’s totaled 126 yards and one TD from seven catches.

Javae Swindle (Jemison 2012) entered his junior season as one of the most accomplished athletes representing the area in college sports.

In 2013, the 5-foot-4, 162-pound running back for the University of West Alabama had been selected NCAA Division II All-American second team by Beyond Sports Network after rushing for 1,296 yards with 12 TDs on 145 attempts.

In 2014, he followed by providing 521 yards and two TDs from 78 carries.

This season, he has yet to see action for UWA, which is out to a 2-0 start after collecting a 34-8 triumph at home against Cumberland University (1-1) on Sept. 10 in Livingston.

On Sept. 5, UWU opened with a 52-9 shut down of Stillman College (1-1) in Livingston.

Riley Tindol (Billingsley 2014) returned as a 6-foot-5, 262-pound defensive end for Vanderbilt University, which is 0-2 after sustaining a 31-14 loss at home to No. 10 Georgia (2-0) on Sept. 12 in Nashville, Tenn.

On Sept. 3, VU opened with a 14-12 loss at home to Western Kentucky University (2-0).

Spencer Watley (Chilton County 2013) returned as a 5-foot-10, 260-pound offensive lineman for Jacksonville State University.

Kortlin Zeigler (Jemison 2014) opened his sophomore season as a tight end for the University of West Alabama by capturing appearances in the first two competitions.

MEN’S GOLF

Ivan Truss (Chilton County 2013) captured the No. 5 performance for Samford University at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational by tying for 90th with a three-round score of 229 (81-77-71) on Sept. 15 in Huntington, W.V.

Among the field of 16 teams, the Bulldogs ended 15th.

VOLLEYBALL

Alandra Griffith (Maplesville 2015) contributed season highs in kills in back-to-back matches for the Wallace Community College – Selma volleyball program, which holds an 0-6 overall record.

On Sept. 3, the freshman outside hitter provided a then-personal best nine kills, four blocks and one ace in a 3-2 loss at home to Jefferson Davis Community College (3-6) in Selma.

She followed by delivering 14 kills, four blocks and one assist in a 3-2 loss at home to Southern Union State Community College (3-10) on Sept. 14.

For the season, she’s tallied 29 kills, nine blocks, four assists and one ace.

WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

Sarah Graham (Isabella 2015) opened her collegiate career by finishing as the No. 4 performer for the University of West Alabama at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic by placing 121st on the 5,000-meter course with a time of 20 minutes, 43.72 seconds on Sept. 5 in Memphis.
