The Clanton Orange Tigers youth football program took two out of three games against the Clanton Blue Tigers on Saturday, with the Midgets winning 28-0 and the Minors winning 40-6.

The Clanton Blue Majors won 14-8.

The Clanton Orange Midgets got the day started and wasted little time in putting points on the board as Seneca Wilson took the first offensive play of the day 60 yards for an Orange score and a 6-0 lead.

Wilson was the work horse for the Orange Midgets and accounted for two more touchdowns in the first half on runs of 70 and 38 yards to lead the Orange to a 22-0 lead at halftime.

Nyzaiah DeJarnett went in from six yards out midway through the fourth quarter to bring the game to its final score of 28-0.

Wilson led the Orange on both sides of the ball with 175 yards and three touchdowns on five carries, as well as recording 12 tackles on defense.

Houston Harris led the Blue offense with 57 yards on 13 carries, while Issac Austin lead the defense with six tackles.

The Orange Minors kept the momentum going by recovering an onside kick to start the game and set up Demarcus Roddick to cap off the opening drive with a three-yard touchdown run.

Roddick went in again on the two-point conversion to make the Orange lead 8-0.

Billy Fulmer accounted for the next Orange touchdown, on a 15-yard run, and with a 16-yard touchdown run by Alexander Bradford, the Orange took a 24-0 lead into halftime.

On the first drive of the second half, Bradford found paydirt for the second time, and with Justin Godwin adding the two-point conversion, the Orange took a 32-0 lead.

Blue broke the shutout when Kelijah Lucas broke loose for a 69-yard touchdown run to make the score 32-6, but the Orange answered with another six points on a Bradford to Eli Dale touchdown pass.

Conner Griffin added the two-point conversion to bring the game to its final score of 40-6.

Bradford led the Orange on the ground with 145 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries, while Godwin added 94 yards on eight carries.

Lucas led the Blue on both sides of the ball with 74 yards and a touchdown on eight carries on offense and seven tackles on defense.

After a scoreless first quarter, Kevin Staffney put the Blue Majors on the board first with a 32-yard touchdown carry to give the Blue an 8-0 lead after Raymond Boston’s two-point conversion.

The lead wouldn’t last long, as Ja’Kobi Albert took the ensuing kickoff 70 yards for an Orange touchdown, and with Crawford Easterling adding two points, the score was all tied up at 8-all at the half.

With 6:31 left to play, and a first-and-goal from the Orange two-yard line, Jakobe Worthey rammed his way into the end zone to give the Blue a 14-8 lead.

The Orange looked poised to answer the Blue touchdown with a long run deep into Blue territory with just three minutes to play, but a penalty negated the play and put the Orange in a third-and-27 situation.

Two plays for no gain turned the ball over on downs and gave the Blue Majors a 14-8 win.

Staffney led the Blue offense with 87 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries, while Worthey led the defense with six tackles.

Albert led the Orange ground game with 48 yards on 11 carries, while Crawford Easterling and Sawyer Collum both had five tackles for the defense.
