Calvary Independent Baptist Church

We would like to thank everyone who attended services on Sunday.

Sunday morning services included a message titled “How Far Am I Willing to Go for God?” We looked at passages from 2 Kings 2:1-15 about what Elisha saw in Elijah, what Elisha sought in his journey, what Elisha said at Jordan and what Elisha showed in his life.

We all should have some spiritual leaders in our lives that we look to for guidance and leadership; then there comes that time in our lives when we go from being the student to becoming the teacher.

Elijah had that mantle, that part of his attire that was on the outside, the part of his life that all others saw. Elisha was willing to pick up that mantle and let others see the eternal, mighty God of Elijah was also at work in Elisha’s life as well. Elijah is gone, and Elisha is gone but the “I AM” of the Old Testament is the “I AM” of 2015 as well.

We hope you know the Lord Jesus Christ and are allowing him to work in and through your life in a mighty way today.

Sunday night services included a message from Luke 24:36-45 titled “I Believe God Wants to Open Our Understanding.” We looked at how in doing so we are to know God’s will, to know the Scriptures, to make the right decisions and to run our race well.

Do you know where your starting place was, what kind of pace you have set, and where the finishing goal line is in running the race well until the end of your course? If not, would you pray and ask God to give you more understanding in relation to your salvation and in your service unto him? Getting involved in a Bible-preaching and teaching church and searching the Scriptures daily is a very good way of getting on track and having a good solid starting place. If you have gotten off track and out of church, get back on track by getting back in church and find out what you have been missing.

If you are in or near Clanton and looking for a church to visit this Sunday, we would love to see you at Calvary.
