Clanton First United Methodist Church is gearing up for a “Back-to-School Bash” Aug. 26 at 6:17 p.m.
The event will be held at the Helen E. Parrish Activity Center at 207 Ninth St. N.
The event is free and open to all ages, and will feature J.D. “The Iceman” Anderson.
Anderson is a six-time world record holder and expert in feats of strength, who entertains with his power and speed while delivering motivational and encouraging speeches to people of all ages in churches and school assembly programs.
According to the website for J.D. “The Iceman” Anderson, “Anderson’s amazing speed and power allow him to perform feats of strength such as running through walls of ice head and shoulders first, bending steel bars in his teeth, ripping license plates in his teeth, rolling up frying pans in his bare hands, shredding phone books in half, bending solid steel horse shoes in his bare hands, ripping decks of cards in half with his teeth, breaking baseball bats in half, or smashing 1,000 pounds of ice with his head.”
Anderson uses his “abnormal size and strength to capture people’s attention, to then only motivate them as well as deliver the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” according to Anderson’s website.
