A Verbena man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Friday.

The 1996 Oldsmobile driven by Robert Eugene Weir Jr., 71, left the roadway at 5 p.m. on Chilton County Road 502 at County Road 501, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Weir, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to ALEA.

No additional information was available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
