The Chilton County Humane Society is inviting the community to come support the shelter at a wine tasting fundraiser July 25.

The wine tasting fundraiser for the Humane Society will be from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. at Hidden Meadow Vineyard and Winery in Jemison.

Katherine Reece, Humane Society board member, said the fundraiser is a good way for people from the community to get together and support the shelter.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door, at the shelter, Cox Veterinary Clinic at 3403 Seventh St. N. in Clanton and Pethaven at 500 Sixth St. S. in Clanton.

“This is a great date night and helps the shelter care for the unwanted animals of Chilton County that come to our door,” Reece said. “An animal shelter needs almost constant maintenance and cleaning, funds are needed to provide vaccines and other medicines. We are also trying to raise funds to seal the concrete floor in the shelter to help keep our animals healthier and more adoptable.”

Reece said all proceeds from ticket sales, along with a percentage per bottle of wine purchased during the event, will benefit the shelter.

“Hidden Meadow has been wonderful in agreeing to donate a percentage from the sales of wine that night to the shelter,” Reece said. “It is great wine, and we are really hoping people will purchase some.”

Micky Deloach will serve as the entertainment for the night with Southern rock music, as attendees mingle and enjoy an evening with friends.

The Friends of Chilton Animals volunteer group is also providing food and appetizers for those attending.

Reece said there will also be an auction with items either handmade or donated by local businesses.

Currently, businesses that have donated include Advance Pawn, Unleashed Inn Kennel, Donnie’ s Lawn Service, Hollywood Nails, Clanton Furniture, Clanton Country Club, Edward’s Jewelers, Tradewinds, Bahama Drama and Verbena Farm Supply.

Artwork by Caryl Lawson and Diana Hiott will also be available for purchase.

Hidden Meadow Vineyard and Winery is located at 664 County Road 606 in Jemison.
